Baseball Recap: Westminster Takes a Loss

Westminster lost against Standley Lake back in May of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Westminster Wolves fell just short of the Standley Lake Gators by a score of 10-9. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Adrian Moreno was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Samaniego, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Westminster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Westminster's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Standley Lake, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Westminster will challenge Rangeview at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Standley Lake will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on D'Evelyn at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th.
