            Softball Recap: Amphitheater Panthers vs. Sahuaro Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            Amphitheater had lost five straight on the road, but  on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-14 to make it six. They came up short against  the Sahuaro Cougars, falling  14-3. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing  26-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in March of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.
  Isabella Espinoza was cooking despite her team's loss,   getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  triple.  Talisa Yrigolla was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  run.
Sahuaro's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-17. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
On Sahuaro's side,  Julissa Estrada made a big impact no matter where she played. She  struck out ten batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits. Those  ten  strikeouts gave  Estrada a new career-high. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI. That  RBI marked the first that  she has  brought in this season.
 In other batting news,  Julyssa Canfield was a standout: she got on base  in two of her four plate appearances with four  stolen bases and three  runs. Those  four  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Juliana Lukanuski, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
As of now, neither Amphitheater nor Sahuaro have any future games scheduled.
