IMG Academy White has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the South Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, IMG Academy White was able to grind out a solid win over Community School of Naples, taking the game 6-3.
IMG Academy White got a great performance from Xander Perrin as he pitched five innings while giving up two earned runs off four hits (he also only allowed one walk). Will Orberson picked up the save, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with a triple, a stolen base, and two RBI.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Michael Pino, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, South Lake came into Wednesday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Auburndale 18-1. The victory was just what South Lake needed coming off of a 7-1 loss in their prior contest.
IMG Academy White has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for South Lake, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
