Baseball Game Preview: Palacios Sharks vs. Rice Consolidated Raiders

Palacios and Rice Consolidated are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Palacios Sharks will take on the Rice Consolidated Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

Palacios' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Rice Consolidated with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on James Trammell, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Caden Brooks was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Palacios was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.

With the defeat, Rice Consolidated broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Palacios, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
