Recap: Pathways Eagles vs. Hope Academy Trojan Tigers
The Pathways Eagles were the 60-55 winner over the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Pathways fell just short of Hope Academy by a score of 55-52. It was the first time this season that Pathways let down their fans at home.
Pathways' lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Steven Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Edwards is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now blocked two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Adrian Mutothori, who scored 15 points along with 5 steals.
Hope Academy found their leader in underclassman Dwayne Foreman III, who scored 22 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds. The contest was Foreman III's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Nathaniel Boyer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Pathways' loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Hope Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Pathways won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Vine Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Vine Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 253 points over their last four matches. As for Hope Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Nazaret Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
