Baseball Recap: Blackfoot Comes Up Short

Blackfoot fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Hillcrest on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. The Broncos were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but the Knights' pitchers proved too tough.

Blackfoot saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Williams is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Blackfoot's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Hillcrest, their record now sits at 17-6-2.

Blackfoot does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hillcrest, they will head out on the road to challenge Bonneville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bees have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
