Football Recap: Beaverton Beavers vs. Evart Wildcats
Beaverton had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They and the Evart Wildcats were almost perfectly matched up on Thursday, but the Beaverton Beavers suffered a 19-18 loss. The Beavers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.
A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Lucas Johnson and his top target Noah Vanderlinde. Johnson picked up 141 receiving yards while Vanderlinde picked up 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaverton will challenge Gladwin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have been evenly matched recently as the teams are 5-5 against one another since September of 2014. As for Evart, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Lake City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are at an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2014.
