John Paul II Catholic will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Coastal Christian, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. The Saints walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Centurions on Wednesday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but John Paul II Catholic were the better team in the second half.

They hit Coastal Christian with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Emma Claire Smith (2), Hailey Tew, and Ava Walsh.

Meanwhile, Cape Fear Academy faced Ashley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Cape Fear Academy's first draw of the season.

With that draw, Cape Fear Academy's record moves to 15-0-1. As for John Paul II Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
