Softball Game Preview: Olean Huskies vs. East Aurora Blue Devils

The Olean Huskies will square off against the East Aurora Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Olean fell victim to Depew and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by exactly three runs.

Emma Edwards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Olean saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Finch1, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, East Aurora lost 13-5 to Nichols on Friday.

East Aurora's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Olean, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Everything went Olean's way against East Aurora when the teams last played back in May of 2022, as Olean made off with an 8-1 win. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
