Baseball Recap: Edgerton Sets Scoring Season-High Against Holgate

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edgerton). They blew past the Holgate Tigers 14-1 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Kellen Sanchez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Edgerton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cory Herman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Edgerton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Edgerton now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Holgate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Edgerton will welcome Eastside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Holgate, they will head out to take on Gorham Fayette at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
