Basketball Recap: Troy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Butler, Troy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They secured a 35-31 W over the Xenia Buccaneers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Troy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire Meredith, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Jayda Dillow, who earned seven points and three steals.

Troy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14. As for Xenia, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Troy and Xenia could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Troy (ranked 653rd) will meet Stebbins (ranked 258th) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Troy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Meanwhile, Xenia will challenge Butler at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday down 638 places (710 vs. 72).
