Volleyball Game Preview: Pacelli Cardinals vs. Marathon Red Raiders

The Pacelli Cardinals will take on the Marathon Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Marathon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pacelli, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pacelli challenged Wild Rose on Tuesday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 27-25.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Marathon's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Auburndale by a score of 3-2.

Marathon wouldn't go down easily and took Auburndale into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-16, 26-28, 22-25, 18-16.

Marathon now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Pacelli, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-16.
