Basketball Recap: Cushing Takes a Loss

Cushing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Woodward Boomers and fell 72-31. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while the Boomers are ranked 176th).

Cushing's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Woodward, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cushing Tigers challenge the Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Cushing is facing Pond Creek-Hunter at the right time seeing as Pond Creek-Hunter is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Woodward, they will head out on the road to take on Chisholm at 12:45 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Woodward's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
