With a playoff win on the line, Langston Hughes rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-67 win over the Alexander Cougars. The Panthers are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 13 straight.

Langston Hughes pushed their record up to 24-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points over those games. As for Alexander, their loss ended a 24-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-8.

Coming up, Langston Hughes will face off against Woodward Academy on Friday. One thing working in Woodward Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Alexander does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
