Softball Recap: Isle of Wight Academy Comes Up Short

If Isle of Wight Academy was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Atlantic Shores Christian on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chargers lost 14-1 to the Western Branch Bruins on Thursday. The Chargers have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Isle of Wight Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Western Branch, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Isle of Wight Academy will head out to challenge Broadwater Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Western Branch, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lakeland at 5:45 p.m. on the 22nd.
