Basketball Recap: Johnson Gets the Win

Johnson won the last time they faced Effingham County and things went their way on Saturday too. The Atomsmashers came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 53-45. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Atomsmashers.

Effingham County's loss came despite strong showings from Nakera M Hawkins and Shaunici Calhoun. M Hawkins dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Calhoun posted 16 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Johnson's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Effingham County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Johnson will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Long County at 6:00 p.m. on December 5. As for Effingham County, they will challenge Windsor Forest at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
