Volleyball Recap: First Baptist School Comes Up Short

First Baptist School extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 9-9. They came up short against the Porter-Gaud Cyclones, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hurricanes of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Porter-Gaud, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 4th (when they won 3-0).

Porter-Gaud's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anouk Barnes, who had 11 digs. Laney Barganier also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Coming up, First Baptist School will take on Northwood Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Porter-Gaud, they will square off against Charleston Collegiate at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
