Soccer Recap: Floresville Gets the Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Floresville walked away with it. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Floresville who was credited with the victory on Friday. Floresville got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Luling Eagles's three.

Ava Talamantez and Samaria Estrada scored both of Floresville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 31 goals.

Floresville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those seven games. Luling's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9-3.

Coming up, Floresville will square off against Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Luling does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
