Volleyball Recap: East Aces vs. Southeast Golden Buffalo

East was the 2-1 winner over Southeast when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The East Aces fell just short of the Southeast Golden Buffalo by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, East sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-18.

When it comes to explaining why East lost, don't look at Loen Henderson. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and two aces. Henderson is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

Southeast was led to victory by Alina Ramirez and Alayla Xayavong. Ramirez had 13 digs, while Xayavong had nine digs.

East dropped their record down to 8-18 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Southeast, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-20 record.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Heights the next time they take the court. Southeast will head out to face Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while East will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
