Basketball Recap: Willow's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Willow's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They skirted past the Berwick Panthers 28-26. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the defeat, Berwick saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Azyria Garrison dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. What's more, Garrison also racked up six steals, the most she's had since back in February.

Willow's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Berwick, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willow will host Bonnabel at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Berwick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Delcambre at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berwick is facing Delcambre at the right time seeing as Delcambre is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
