Softball Recap: Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains vs. Lakota Raiders
Hopewell-Loudon won against Margaretta last Saturday with 19 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Chieftains beat the Lakota Raiders by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 19-6. Considering the Chieftains have won five games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Araceli Velasquez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
