Basketball Recap: Coahulla Creek Comes Up Short

Coahulla Creek was the 60-54 winner over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Coahulla Creek Colts took a hard 64-49 fall against the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors on Saturday. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe was led to victory by Jared Mitchell and Darian Keefe. Mitchell dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds, while Keefe posted 19 points and three steals. What's more, Keefe also posted a 57% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. AJ Hendrix was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

Coahulla Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Coahulla Creek will challenge Sumter County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they will face off against KIPP Atlanta Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe likes a good challenge.
