Baseball Recap: Masuk Extends Winning Streak to Six

Masuk extended their winning streak to six on Monday, bumping their season record up to 13-7 in the process. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Immaculate Mustangs a 3-0 shutout. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 7, 2017, but that streak is no more.

Masuk's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Zylick, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Immaculate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. Mustangs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Masuk since on Monday.

On Immaculate's side, Christian Robitaille spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up six Ks.

Masuk does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Immaculate, they will head out on the road to challenge New Fairfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
