The West Carroll War Eagles will challenge the Bradford Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
West Carroll is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Humboldt on Monday. The War Eagles haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Sawyer Jackson looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits.

On the hitting side, Cole McMinn was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because West Carroll is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 1-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mason Taylor, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.
West Carroll hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Bradford played in-conference for the first time on Monday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Clarksburg.
Dylan Brauer made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jax Richardson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Brodie McDaniel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Bradford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for West Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. West Carroll has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bradford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
