Softball Recap: Lee Academy Takes a Loss

Lee Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Thomas Sumter Academy Generals, falling 20-7. If the Cavaliers were looking for revenge after losing 11-6 to the Generals when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jameson Collins was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Presleigh Greene, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Lee Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Thomas Sumter Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coincidentally, Lee Academy and Thomas Sumter Academy will both be playing Williamsburg Academy the next time they take the field. Thomas Sumter Academy will host Williamsburg Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Lee Academy will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th.
