Basketball Recap: Crystal River Falls Short of Santa Fe in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Crystal River can now relate to. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Fe Raiders on Wednesday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Yost, who posted 14 points along with five assists and three steals. Tyler Capozziello was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 13 points.

Crystal River's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Santa Fe, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-10.

Crystal River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Fe, they have already played their next contest, a 45-44 victory against North Marion on the 7th.
