Basketball Recap: Walsingham Academy Comes Up Short

Walsingham Academy lost against Norfolk Collegiate back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Walsingham Academy Trojans took a blow against the Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks, falling 68-30. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Norfolk Collegiate had a senior duo take command as Justin Burrough went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds and Savion Samlal posted ten points in addition to six boards and five assists. Samlal has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Josh Mills was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Walsingham Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Norfolk Collegiate, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Walsingham Academy and Veritas School will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
