Soccer Recap: Gretna East Comes Up Short

After flying high against Standing Bear last Tuesday, Gretna East came back down to earth. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Mount Michael Benedictine Knights who were credited with the win on Friday. The Mount Michael Benedictine Knights got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Gretna East Griffins' two. Gretna East were not able to make up for their loss to Mount Michael Benedictine from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Gretna East's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Gretna East and Mount Michael Benedictine will both be playing Pius X the next time they take the pitch. Gretna East will host Pius X at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Mount Michael Benedictine will host them on Thursday.
