Soccer Recap: Clewiston Takes a Loss

Clewiston lost against Lely back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Clewiston Tigers lost 8-0 to the Lely Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Trojans are ranked 123rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Clewiston and nudges their season record down to 3-6-1. As for Lely, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4-3.

Clewiston didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against LaBelle on the 13th. As for Lely, they will face off against Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lely is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.9 goals per game this season.
