Softball Recap: Poteet's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After only two runs in their last matchup, Poteet made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cole on Friday. The Poteet Aggies blew past the Cole Cougars 15-4. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Aggies' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Poteet let Gabriella Ramos and Liliana Garzes run wild. Ramos went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double, while Garzes scored three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI Ramos has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Galilaya Hernandez, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Poteet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .391 that Cole posted.

Poteet's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-12. As for Cole, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10-1 record this season.

Poteet will square off against D'Hanis at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Cole, they will face off against Dilley at 7:00 p.m. on March 14th.
