Volleyball Recap: Firestone Finds Playoff Glory Versus Steele

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Firestone walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Steele Comets with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Elijah Myers paced Firestone's offense, picking up 16 kills. Myers got some help from Rohan Gould and his 16 assists. Myers was also a major player on defense: he and Daniel Carter shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Firestone is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Steele, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Coming up, Firestone will take on Walsh Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Steele does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
