Los Banos is headed into Wednesday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They fell 53-40 to Merced on Friday. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Golden Valley came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 55-44. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Falcons are ranked 93rd).

Golden Valley's record now sits at 15-5. As for Los Banos, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.
