Football Recap: Mission Viejo Beats San Clemente for Their Third Straight Victory

Mission Viejo waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the San Clemente Tritons 34-16. The Diablos have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tritons, too.

Mission Viejo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Fahey, who threw for 378 yards and one TD while completing 74.2% of his passes. Those 378 passing yards gave Fahey a new career-high. KJ Woodbury JR was Fahey's top target, picking up 151 receiving yards and one score.

Although San Clemente took the loss, they still got scores from Jaxson Rex and Shane Kiley.

Mission Viejo's record now sits at 7-1. As for San Clemente, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Mission Viejo is taking a road trip to square off against Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Clemente, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Los Alamitos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tritons will need to watch out since the Griffins have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests.
