Volleyball Recap: Zoe Brown Key Part of Team Effort in Golden Eagles Win

Center Place proved they can win big last Friday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Christian Learning Center Mustangs 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Center Place had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-21.

Center Place's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zoe Brown led the charge by getting seven digs and two aces. Those seven digs gave Brown a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadlee Hakes, who had nine kills and six digs.

Center Place's record now sits at 15-1-1. As for Christian Learning Center, they dropped their record down to 11-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Center Place wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 27th. As for Christian Learning Center, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 win against El Dorado Christian on the 30th.
