Newberry proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their defense stepped up to hand the Battery Creek Dolphins a 1-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for Newberry as they're now sitting on four straight.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Juliette Carmona, who's now up to 16 this season.

Newberry's win bumped their record up to 12-7-1. As for Battery Creek, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Newberry will head out to challenge Waccamaw at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newberry's defense better be ready for this one: Waccamaw have averaged an impressive 3.9 goals per game this season. Battery Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
