Basketball Game Preview: Delran Bears vs. Medford Tech Jaguars

The Delran Bears will square off against the Medford Tech Jaguars at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Delran is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Northern Burlington on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Delran was beaten by Northern Burlington 75-43. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 114th).

Meanwhile, Medford Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Highland Regional. One positive for the Jaguars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Medford Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Delran, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-9.

Everything came up roses for Delran against Medford Tech in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 48-19 win. Does Delran have another victory up their sleeve, or will Medford Tech turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
