Soccer Game Preview: St. Martin's Episcopal vs. Newman

The St. Martin's Episcopal Saints will head out to take on the Newman Greenies at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Martin's Episcopal's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

St. Martin's Episcopal fell victim to Riverside Academy and their airtight defense back in December of 2024. They came up short against the Rebels, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Newman faced University Lab in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Both finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Greenies have been dealt a draw since back in November of 2024.

St. Martin's Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. Newman's draw makes their record 5-2-2 this season.

St. Martin's Episcopal suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Newman when the teams last played back in November of 2014. Can St. Martin's Episcopal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
