Basketball Game Preview: Groton Tigers vs. Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies

Groton hasn't had much luck against Elk Point-Jefferson recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Groton Tigers will take on the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies at 2:45 p.m. Elk Point-Jefferson took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Groton, who comes in off a win.

Groton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Deuel 59-30. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Elk Point-Jefferson faced Dakota Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Elk Point-Jefferson took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dakota Valley.

Groton's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Elk Point-Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 13-3.

Groton suffered a grim 44-23 defeat to Elk Point-Jefferson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Groton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
