Baseball Recap: Surry Central Has No Trouble Against North Wilkes

While Surry Central put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for North Wilkes. The Golden Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Vikings. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won seven in a row.

Dru Gaddy looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jackson Wilmoth was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Woodring, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Surry Central's record is now 15-6. As for North Wilkes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

North Wilkes will challenge Forbush at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Surry Central will be paying especially close attention to the Vikings' contest: after the Vikings face off against the Falcons, they'll take on Surry Central again at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
