Basketball Recap: Mississippi School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

Mississippi School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 87-9 loss at the hands of the Leake County Gators. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-5.

Learvious Hill was Mississippi School for the Deaf's leading scorer, having posted four points. Chico Hernandez held things down on the boards with three rebounds.

Leake County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nigel Kincaid led the charge by going 8 for 10 en route to 19 points and five assists. LaTavean Fortune was another key player, going 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Mississippi School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Leake County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.
