Baseball Game Preview: Poway Titans vs. Carlsbad Lancers

For the second straight game, Poway will face off against Carlsbad. The Titans will welcome the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Poway is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Monday, Poway didn't have quite enough to beat Carlsbad and fell 2-1.

For Carlsbad's part, Benjamin Lopez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lopez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carlsbad saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Millett, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Millett a new career-high.

Carlsbad pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Poway, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
