Soccer Game Preview: Hendrickson vs. Monterey

The Hendrickson Hawks will face off against the Monterey Plainsmen at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Hendrickson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Cedar Ridge by a score of 5-4 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Monterey had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Their defense stepped up to hand Cedar Creek a 5-0 shutout.

Monterey hit Cedar Creek with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from JT Tuttle (2), Miguel Robledo, Giovanni Cardenas, and Frankie Diaz.
