Softball Recap: Bellevue Comes Up Short

The Bellevue Redmen came up short against the Ashland Arrows on Friday, falling 14-5. The Redmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Payton Hicks was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Taylor Waldrup also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Bellevue's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Bellevue will be playing in front of their home fans against Upper Sandusky at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Redmen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ashland, they will challenge Clyde at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
