Volleyball Recap: El Capitan Gets the Win

While El Capitan's win against Point Loma wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vaqueros had just enough and edged out the Pointers 2-1 on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in February.

Jacob Marquez paced El Capitan's offense, picking up 11 kills. Marquez got some help from Neil Perkins and his 12 assists. Finally, Andy Gerardo-Novelo kept El Capitan's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

El Capitan's victory bumped their record up to 19-13. As for Point Loma, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-23 record this season.

El Capitan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against West Hills on the 29th. As for Point Loma, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Crawford on the 29th.
