Baseball Game Preview: Collegium Charter Cougar vs. Bristol Warriors

The Collegium Charter Cougar will head out to challenge the Bristol Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Collegium Charter is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Collegium Charter came up short against Calvary Christian Academy on Thursday, falling 22-12. Even though they lost, the Cougar's still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Jimmy Parmiter was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Ben Holmes was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Bristol was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 18-0 to Faith Christian Academy. The game marked the first time this year in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Bristol saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Guy, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Bristol's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Collegium Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Collegium Charter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bristol struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Collegium Charter suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Bristol when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Cougar avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
