Volleyball Recap: Fowler Beats Orange Cove for Their Fifth Straight Win

Fowler had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Orange Cove Titans as they made off with a 3-0 victory. While the Redcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-21-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Fowler took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-11, 25-15.

Jasmeet Poonia paced Fowler's offense, picking up eight kills. Poonia got some help from Laila Zavala and her 18 assists. Zavala was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Fowler's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Orange Cove, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Fowler will take on Woodlake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orange Cove, they will challenge Corcoran at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
