Football Recap: Grand Junction Central Warriors vs. Palisade Bulldogs
Grand Junction Central had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it six. They lost 49-23 to the Palisade Bulldogs. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
As for Palisade, they now have a winning record of 3-2. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their six-point performance the contest before.
Palisade's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylon Larson, who rushed for 78 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries. Larson also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making two total tackles. Adyn Cassity was another key rusher, rushing for 72 yards and one score.
Looking ahead, Grand Junction Central will take on Adams City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Palisade, they will square off against Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
