Baseball Recap: Cherry Hill East Comes Up Short

If Cherry Hill East was riding high fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Paul VI last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars lost 23-3 to the Eastern Vikings on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Thomas Vanella was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Cherry Hill East's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2-2. As for Eastern, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Looking ahead, Cherry Hill East will challenge Cherokee at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Chiefs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eastern, they will square off against Paul VI at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
