Recap: Southwest Roughriders vs. Medicine Valley Raiders
Even though the Southwest Roughriders have not done well against the Medicine Valley Raiders recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Southwest walked away with a 49-37 win over Medicine Valley. The win made it back-to-back wins for Southwest.
Southwest was led to victory by Jakub Walz, and Houston Billeter. Walz, dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Billeter went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 3 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Billeter has scored at least 25% of Southwest's points.
Southwest's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Medicine Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Southwest's road trip will continue as they head out to face Alma. Alma will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Medicine Valley, they will be playing at home against Hitchcock County on Thursday. Hitchcock County and Medicine Valley are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
