Baseball Recap: Catholic Memorial Comes Up Short

If Catholic Memorial was feeling good fresh off their 12-5 takedown of Waukesha South on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders came up short against the Waukesha West Wolverines on Monday, falling 10-2. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Catholic Memorial saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Vasquez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another was Ian Kawczynski, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Catholic Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Waukesha West, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7.

Catholic Memorial and Waukesha West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Crusaders (ranked 207th) will meet Mukwonago (ranked 11th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Waukesha West will take on Oconomowoc at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (89 vs. 20).
